WARHOL BY CHRISTOPHER MAKOS
Biographically speaking, Christopher Makos catches a hint of notoriety in 1977 when he published White Trash , the collection of photographs that includes portraits of John Lennon , Debbie Harry of Blondie , Richard Hell of the Voidoids , Patti Smith , Liza Minnelli , Paul Getty , Tennessee Williams and other celebrities more or less underground interested in punk culture. Andy Warhol cries out for a miracle, buys 1,000 copies of the book and suggests that Makos sign them one by one which he would later enclose in his Time Capsules . Christopher raises - mindful that ( Warholian speaking) " art is money and money is art " - asking him $ 1 for signature. Andy is flawless, Makos goes to the box office and is only the beginning of one of the most sincere partnerships. Two years later, Warhol suggested that he take care of the graphics of Exposures , his 1st volume of photos taken with a small Minox .
